Transcription: Many zoos have changed during the last few years and no longer simply exhibit animals. Most take part in carefully planned captive breeding programmes, particularly of endangered species. Zoos today are also places where the public can learn about the animals and their habitats and the efforts being made to preserve them for future generations. In order for the animals to breed successfully, they must be kept as healthy as possible a suitable stress-free environment.
